The House at 16 Piłsudskiego street, called "Sienkiewiczówka", was designed by Sławomir Odrzywolski and Władyslaw Kaczmarski. It owes its name to one of the most eminent Polish writers, Nobel Prize winner, Henryk Sienkiewicz who, according to some sources, wrote his novel “Quo Vadis” here.

For years, this place has been an important point on the intellectual map of Krakow. It is worth reminding that the building was erected to the order of Edward and Jadwiga Janczewski. Edward Janczewski was a professor and rector of the Jagiellonian University whereas his wife, Jadwiga, a specialist in the arts and a talented painter, was a sister of the first wife of Henryk Sienkiewicz – Maria.

This unique art nouveau building, owned by our University since 1992, served for many years as a place of respite, especially for foreign guests visiting Krakow and the AGH University of Science and Technology. All the guests were enchanted by its exceptional atmosphere.

The AGH Guest House “Sienkiewiczówka” is a conference centre. We offer facilities for conferences, symposiums, business and occasional meetings.

On the ground floor there is an air-conditioned, elegantly designed conference room with multimedia and computer equipment (screen, overhead projector, flip chart, TV, audio set, WI-FI connection).

On the first floor there is a historic drawing room for meetings of less formal nature. Instead of conference tables there are comfortable sofas and armchairs. The piano creates a relaxing atmosphere. This is an ideal place for more informal meetings and the so called “small talks”. Next to the conference room and the drawing room there are 2 VIP rooms for meetings in a narrow circle (negotiations, signing documents, etc.).

We warmly invite our guests to a stylish club room located in the basement of the building. The club room is the place where every morning from 7:00 till 09:30 a tasty buffet breakfast is served. It is also the place where, depending on your needs and expectations, we may organize a coffee break, lunch, dinner, or a theme meeting.
